Privacy Policy
Learn what information SwitchMyTool collects, how we use analytics, and how to contact us about privacy requests.
Information we collect
SwitchMyTool is an informational website. We do not require an account to browse pages, compare tools, or read alternative lists. We may receive the information you choose to send through the contact form or through email, such as your name, email address, reason for contact, page URL, and message.
Do not send passwords, API keys, payment details, private customer data, or other sensitive information through the contact form.
Our hosting provider may process standard request information needed to deliver and protect the site, including IP address, browser and device information, requested URL, referrer, timestamps, and security signals. We do not use this information to identify ordinary readers.
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics and Ahrefs Web Analytics to understand aggregate site usage, such as page views, referrers, device type, browser, general location, and site performance. These services load automatically when you visit the site.
Both services use their default cookie-free analytics modes and do not use persistent identifiers to follow readers across websites. We use the aggregated reports to find useful guides, broken navigation, and technical problems.
Advertising and Google services
SwitchMyTool may use Google AdSense to fund the publication of free comparisons and research. When advertising is active, Google and its advertising partners may place or read cookies, use web beacons, and process IP addresses, device information, browser information, ad interactions, and other identifiers to deliver, measure, limit, and protect advertising.
Depending on your location and choices, ads may be personalized or non-personalized. Personalized ads can use information about previous activity. Non-personalized ads use contextual information such as the page topic and approximate location, while still using limited data for delivery, frequency control, fraud prevention, and reporting.
If we enable Google advertising, we will use a Google-certified consent management platform that supports the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework where required in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. That message will provide options to consent, decline, or manage advertising purposes and vendors before consent-dependent advertising storage or personalization is used.
Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at Google's partner-sites policy. You can also manage Google ad personalization through My Ad Center.
How we use information
We use submitted contact information to respond to requests, correct pages, evaluate suggested tools, and review affiliate or partnership inquiries. We use analytics data to improve content quality, site performance, and navigation. Advertising data is used to deliver and measure ads, prevent invalid activity, enforce frequency limits, and meet legal obligations.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that help operate the site, process analytics, or deliver messages, and only as needed for those purposes. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the site and its users.
When advertising is active, information may be processed by Google and the advertising technology providers disclosed through the applicable consent message. We do not give advertisers the name or email address submitted through our contact form.
Data retention
We keep contact messages for as long as needed to respond, maintain records of corrections, or handle follow-up questions. Analytics data is retained according to the settings and limits of the analytics provider. Advertising consent records are retained for the period needed to demonstrate and respect your advertising choices, prevent fraud, and meet legal or contractual obligations.
Your choices
You can request access, correction, or deletion of personal information you have submitted by contacting us. We may need to verify the request before acting on it.
When a regional advertising consent message applies, use its controls to consent, decline, or manage advertising purposes and vendors. Browser settings can also block or delete cookies used by advertising or other services.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent or appeal a response. We do not sell personal information for money.
